What a start Hull City have had to their Premier League campaign. The Tigers started their season with an impressive 2-1 win against Premier League holders Leicester City. It was a win that literally shook the world. Mike Phelan’s side kept up impressing when they travelled to the Liberty stadium last weekend and came back with their second consecutive win beating Swansea City 2-0. A 3-1 win against Exeter City in the League Cup added further momentum to the side but a tough test awaits them on Saturday as they host Jose Mourinho’s high-flying Manchester United.
Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United are on a roll this season winning all three of their competitive games this season but must be wary of Hull City as they have proved that they are no pushovers. We have to salute Mike Phelan for the work he has done at the KC Stadium after Steve Bruce left the club just before the start of the new season putting the club in a tricky situation. Without a single signing and an injury crisis to make things worse, Phelan and his team have to come up something really special in order to salvage anything from this game.
Here is the predicted Hull City lineup against Manchester United.
Defence
Eldin Jakupovic will start between the sticks as Allan McGregor is sidelined with an injury. Curtis Davies is the only fit central defender at the club and will start at the heart of the defence alongside Jake Livermore who has done really well in an unnatural centre-back role. Ahmed Elmohamady and Andrew Robertson will keep their places in the two full-back positions.
Midfield
Tom Huddlestone will start as the defensive midfielder. With a plethora of Premier League experience in his locker, the 29-year-old holds the key to Hull’s success. A brilliant ball-winner and someone who can dictate the game from deep, Huddlestone will be a key player for the Tigers. David Meyler and Sam Clucas will start as the two box to box midfielders.
Attack
Robert Snodgrass will start on the right flank while Adama Diomande will keep his place on the left. Uruguayan international forward Abel Hernandez will spearhead the attack for the Tigers.
