Liverpool are set to face their toughest test in the pre-season leading into the kick-off of the new season in less than 10 days when they face FC Barcelona at the Wembley on Saturday. Luis Enrique’s side thrashed the Champions of England in their previous game friendly are expected to play a similar tempo against Liverpool. They are currently at the top of the ICC table, level on points with PSG and will be hoping to take all three points from this game against Liverpool. Luis Enrique will be expected to field a strong XI against Liverpool as this is one of his last chances to provide enough pre-season game-time to most of his squad. With less than 24-hours left for the game, here is Barcelona’s predicted line-up for the game at Wembley.
Defence
Jordi Masip
With Marc Andre ter Stegen and Claudio Bravo still on extended vacations, Masip will be expected to start for Barcelona in goal tomorrow.
Aleix Vidal
Though failed to impress in the previous outing against Leicester City, Vidal is expected to play an important role in the squad next season especially with Dani Alves out of the squad and he will get more game time against Liverpool on Saturday.
Jeremy Mathieu
Mathieu hardly got a chance to prove himself in the previous season and will have to fight for his place in the squad next campaign. This game might be his last chance to impress the manager.
Javier Mascherano
After his stint with the national side in the Copa America, Mascherano is back training with the squad and will love to get some game-time under his belt especially against his former team at Wembley.
Juan Camara
The 22-year old Spanish international is a part of the Catalan squad since 2014 and was given a start at the left-back position in the last game. He is expected to start that game against Liverpool on Saturday.
Midfield
Sergio Busquets
The Spanish midfielder is also back with the squad after the early exit from the Euros and was given a place on the bench against Leicester City. However, he is expected to start in the midfield for Barcelona at Wembley.
Sergi Roberto
The versatile midfielder played an important role against Leicester City in the midfield and with star personnel still missing for Barcelona, he is expected to start in a similar position on Saturday.
Denis Suarez
Having bought him back to Barcelona from Villarreal, Barcelona will be hoping to give Denis Suarez some extended game time to help settle into the squad, ahead of the next season.
Attack
Munir el Haddadi
The Spanish international has so far made 25 appearances for the Barcelona senior side in the last couple of seasons and is expected to play a decent role in the campaign next season. He was among the goals against Leicester City and will start the game against Liverpool in Neymar’s position.
Luis Suarez
The former Liverpool talisman has revealed that he relieved to be playing only a friendly against his former team but the lethal striker will be at his best on Saturday in front of a packed Wembley starting for Barcelona on the night.
Lionel Messi
Having lost in the final of the Copa America, Messi is back at Barcelona, training hard to help them to glory next season. He was unplayable in the game against Leicester City and will once again start for his club on Saturday.
