Manchester United Players Rated In Their Horrendous Loss To Sevilla: Young Gets 1/10!

Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United had set themselves up perfectly for their Champions League clash against Sevilla after a victory over Liverpool at the weekend but they choked themselves outrageously on the night where it all mattered. Sevilla were let to grow into the game and two quickfire goals from striker Wissam Ben Yedder completely killed it in favour of the Spanish outfit. Romelu Lukaku’s goal was only a mere consolation for the home side and had no impact on the game as the Red Devils crushed out of the competition, leaving the FA Cup as their only hope to win a silverware this term.

Here’s how United are rated after a dismal night at Old Trafford

GK: David De Gea – 5/10

Was let down by his defence massively and denied Ben Yedder the hattrick at the end.

RB: Antonio Valencia – 3/10

Too predictable, monotonous and nothing really outstanding while defending. Will you not urge your players on as the captain of the club?

CB: Eric Bailly – 6/10

Held his own confidently and made a last-ditch tackle too until Ben Yedder came and toppled him over. Several positives to take individually but a devastating result for the defence as a whole.

CB: Chris Smalling – 5/10

Missed a sitter at the dying minutes of the game and was defensively okay.

LB: Ashley Young – 1/10

A left-back is more than just moving the ball forward and doing the same old repeated passing steps. Atrocious defending for the second goal United conceded.

CM: Nemanja Matic – 7/10

Tried really hard and won a lot of balls in the midfield but he too was let down by his team. He had a lot of work to do on his own.

CM: Marouane Fellaini – 1/10

Brought nothing to the game. Woeful.

CAM: Jesse Lingard – 2/10

Ran and ran uselessly without an end product.

LW: Alexis Sanchez – 3.5/10

Conceded possession cheaply till half-time but he began the second well but the team didn’t really match his efforts. Overall, below average.

RW: Marcus Rashford – 1/10

Absolutely horrendous. Zero end-product and looked completely off colour. Was this the same Marcus Rashford that struck a brace against Liverpool?

ST: Romelu Lukaku – 9/10

Outstanding today. Excellent hold-up play and tried really hard for the team but others probably never had the same desire as him. Got a consolation goal at the end though.

CM: Paul Pogba – 1.5/10

Too casual and reckless and didn’t look bothered. A major disappointment.

FW: Anthony Martial – N/A

FW: Juan Mata – N/A
