Leeds United got off to a positive start under their new manager Thomas Christiansen as they got the better of Bolton Wanderers in the opening match of the Championship.
Leeds are one of the strongest contenders for promotion this season and will like to carry on the momentum to the next game. The Championship outfit have so far made it two out of two as they thrashed Port Vale 4-1 in the lesser known Carabao Cup with new signing Samu Saiz netting a hat-trick.
Predicted 4-2-3-1 Leeds United Lineup Agaiant Preston North End
Felix Wiedwald couldn’t keep a clean sheet in his Championship debut but he is expected to continue between the sticks.
Pontus Jansson will be returning after serving his suspension and Matthew Pennington is expected to pave the way for him. Jansson’s return will work as a timely boost for the new gaffer and the experienced defender is all set to partner Liam Cooper in the heart of the Whites backline.
Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is all set to make his debut for Leeds as Gaetano Berardi dislocated his shoulder against Bolton. Jackson arrived at the Elland Road on loan from Manchester United and his performance in the Carabao cup should be enough to earn him a spot in the starting eleven tomorrow.
Luke Ayling had a good game against Bolton and is set to continue on the right side of the defence.
When it comes to midfield, Leeds do have one of the strongest resources in this department. Christiansen will have his selection worries ahead of the match but if he goes by the performance of the last match in the Championship, Kalvin Phillips and Eunan O’Kane should get the nod in the middle of the pitch.
Both the midfielders played their part quite excellently and the gaffer is unlikely to tweak his setup.
After Samu Saiz’s blistering debut in the Whites jersey, it would be a bit difficult for the gaffer to come to a decision but he is expected to prefer experience over vibrancy so Pablo Hernandez should keep his place in the starting lineup.
On the flanks, we could expect some changes. Stuart Dallas’ brilliant performance against port Vale hasn’t gone unnoticed and the winger could start ahead of Kemar Roofe in this match.
Ezgjan Alioski will start on the left flank.
