Rangers Close To Signing This Portuguese Dazzler: Caixinha Wasting No Time At All

Pedro Caixinha has been working relentlessly on the transfers for Rangers. The  Gers gaffer has identified his next move in the transfer market as he reportedly is chasing Benfica winger Daniel Candeias. Candeias is reportedly making a journey to Glasgow to complete the deal.

Rangers already have made a number of signings and it seems Caixinha is in a hurry to wrap up his necessary requirements. The Scottish giants have failed to win a single silverware this term and have been in the shadows of their archrivals Celtic. They did qualify for the Europa League but their supporters have been wanting more from them and as a club of Ranger’s stature they should be competing for the Premiership title.

The 29-year-old winger will have the chance to reunite with his previous boss Caixinha with whom he had worked at Nacional where he had a very fruitful spell. Caixinha used his Portuguese roots to convince the player to test his potential at Ibrox.

He is valued at around £700,000 which is very much affordable for the Gers. But interests from Alanyaspor could be a stumbling block for them. The Portuguese who has 15 U-21 caps for his native country was at the Turkish club on loan and in 29 matches he has found the net four times alongside racking up as many assists.

Candeias has made his intentions pretty clear that he wants a move to the Ibrox as he won’t stop himself from working at a big club like Rangers. Added to that, the temptation to work with Caixinha again must have given him food for thought. He is yet to appear a single time for Benfica as he had been to a number of clubs on loan.

Daniel’s work rate is very high and he is very comfortable on the ball. Predominantly a right sided midfielder he can be used in a number of positions and his versatility can be heavily utilised by the Portuguese boss.

The Portuguese midfielder joined Benfica from Nacional in 2014. In Nacional, he made his name for his goals scoring attributes as he has netted 17 goals for the Portuguese side for which he earned a move to Benfica.

Caixinha is believed to be working on his attacking department and Candeias would surely be one of his key assets in the upcoming season. The player is scheduled to have a medical and an announcement could be made at any moment.
