The 35th match week of the Premier League has been witness to a number of game-changing incidents. From Sunderland’s drop to the Championship to Tottenham Hotspurs’ win over their North London rival Arsenal, everything has happened in this week. With the Premier League in its final lap every club is trying to give the best shot and as a result, we could see a couple of unexpected results like Burnley’s first away win against Crystal Palace at the Selhurst Park and Swansea City rescuing a point against Manchester United.
A number of players have emerged at their brutal best in this game week and we have shortlisted three best players among them.
The Former MK Dons star lived up to the expectations of the supporters and riding on his brilliance Spurs register a deserving win over their archrival Arsenal. The England playmaker was absolutely devastating with his performance and he combined well with the other attacking players to create a terror among the Arsenal defenders. The scoreline could have been much worse but the reliable Petr Cech once again came to the rescue of the Gunners as he pulled off a number of saves to give the scoreline a respectable look. Alli inaugurated the scoring with a very tricky goal which opened the floodgate for the North London side. Spurs win delayed Chelsea’s celebration and with their win, it is also confirmed that Mauricio Pochettino’s side will finish the season above of their rival.
The playmaker once again showed why he is regarded as the key player at the Liberty Stadium as he once again stepped up to give a ray of hope to their struggling season. Against a team like Manchester United, it is always difficult to thrive but Swansea held their nerve throughout the match to grind out a result which they thoroughly deserved. A moment of brilliance from the Icelandic midfielder made United drop 2 points which could prove to be a major one should they survive the relegation. Swans got a free kick at the edge of the 25 yards with only 11 minutes left and Sigurdsson curled in a delightful ball to the right corner as the Wales club escaped Old Trafford with a point.
The defender has often caught by opponent defenders but against a mighty Everton, Cahill produced a sublime display as Chelsea recorded another clean sheet. With a certain Romelu Lukaku in the opposite ranks, Cahill lead the defence from the front and didn’t allow an inch of space to the Belgium striker. The England international also scored the second goal in the last match which is his sixth goal in the English top tier this season.
