Manchester City have been linked with yet another winger and with Pep Guardiola looking for an overhaul of City’s attacking lineup, we could see him bring this talented youngster to the Etihad, with who he has worked before during his stint with Bayern Munich. Kingsley Coman is currently having a two-year loan spell with German giants Bayern Munich from Juventus and as things stand it looks like the deal will get permanent in the summer.
The 20-year-old France international has a purchase clause of €21 million and Bayern have to make their decision before 30th April, in order to make this deal a permanent one. Many reports claim that Coman is not interested in making a permanent move to Bayern after two seasons on loan, and the Bundesliga giants have just a few days in their hand to activate their option to buy.
Coman has featured in just eight league games and no Champions League matches this season after being a regular starter under Pep Guardiola last season. With growing rumours that Bayer Leverkusen wunderkind, Julian Brandt, also a winger, could be heading to the Allianz Arena, it has added to Coman’s concerns and has cast a shadow over his future at the club.
Ancelotti has relied a lot on the experience of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben this season, and Coman’s recent performances in some of the games failed to convince the manager, and lack of game time is a seriously hurting the player’s confidence. Latest reports suggest that Pep Guardiola wants to make a move for Coman. If Coman sorts his future out with Bayern, City could become the next club and also the fourth in his young career.
Manchester City have their problems this season with their attackers and are currently looking for a wide player and Coman is the perfect option they need as the player is reportedly keen to link up with Pep Guardiola again after working with him at Bayern.
Coman’s arrival would give City another winger and one who is very well familiar with Guardiola’s style. Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sané have formed a formidable partnership up front, but cannot be expected to play all the games, and with Jesús Navas set to leave and new signing Nolito out of favour, Coman who is capable of playing on either flank and would certainly add depth to the squad.
Coman’s indecision will be a huge boost to Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City – who are all waiting to pounce in case the 20-year-old does turn his back on a permanent move to the German champions and City might feel the edge with the player having a good relation with their manager.
