Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has emerged as a surprise target for Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp is determined to land the attacker at Anfield to add more punch to their offence.
The German gaffer has been handed a transfer kitty of £40m this transfer window and will use the cash to lure the player. With Sadio Mane unavailable for a brief period due to his commitment to his country, Klopp has been searching for a potential wide attacker. Having failed to land Christian Pulisic, he has now turned his attention to Chamberlain.
The Southampton academy product joined the Gunners as an 18-year-old kid from Southampton. The England international earlier expressed his interest in leaving the club after failing to land a permanent spot in the starting lineup.
The 23-year-old has scored on six occasions this season. He can be deployed on either wing and can also play as a midfielder.
Arsenal will unlikely to sell any of their players to their direct rivals but a bid in the region of £20m-£25m might force Wenger to think otherwise.
